Wait It Out

Hey friends!! Hope you’re all doing well & crushing goals.. but if you’re feeling stuck or frustrated, this post is for you! So buckle up because I have some important sh*t to say :)

Often times we can get so discouraged when we think / feel like life isn’t moving how we feel it should be moving. Maybe you’re trying to find a new job & haven’t heard anything from the 5 applications you’ve submitted. Maybe you’re trying to buy a house & aren’t having a luck. Maybe this is your 3rd attempt at trying to finish your degree but it’s costing much more than you anticipated. Maybe you’ve been trying for years to have a child. Regardless of what your situation is, I need you to do this— WAIT. IT. OUT.

I had a dream the other night about my infertility issues. In it, I was telling my doctor how scared I was to have another miscarriage. I asked her was there something we could do & she looked at me and said, “Wait it out”.

If you’re new here, I have had multiple miscarriages the past 3.5 years. The most recent one happened this last Christmas. I was 8weeks and 5days. I have had multiple tests done & my doctors have reassured me that my body is fine. (I’ve gotten 2nd and 3rd opinions from different doctors.) However, I often feel like everyone gets their baby blessings but me (I’m working through it in therapy). When I awoke from my dream though, I knew the significance of those three words and I knew I needed to share them with you.

I ended my last post by saying, “Pressure makes diamonds baby!”, and it goes hand in hand with waiting it out. The entire diamond process takes between 1 billion to 3.3 billion years. It takes BILLIONS of years!!! But you know what, the outcome is immaculate.

So keep that in mind when you feel discouraged about the way things are going in your life. Okay, you didn’t get the job you applied for.. but guess what, the job that is suppose to be for you is coming. You might’ve had to spend a huge portion of your savings on something that was unplanned.. but guess what, you’re going to get it back double if you just stay faithful. Things are pretty much never going to go the exact way that we plan them to, but they are going to happen the way they’re suppose to.

Patience is virtue that I believe most of us never fully learn, but there are ways we can practice getting better at it—

  • Strengthen Your Mental. You have to tell yourself things like, “I’m not where I want to be, but I’m where I’m suppose to be in this moment” or “This opportunity wasn’t for me, but my breakthrough is coming” or “It’s okay for me to be discouraged in this moment, but I cannot dwell in it”. You have to speak positively over your life!

  • Meditation. Even if meditation looks like prayer for you. Being mindful in those moments can help you silence your thoughts/ focus your thoughts and process them.

  • Stop rushing! Life is so fast-paced as it is. You blink and 3years have gone by. Do me a favor, the next time you’re pissed off because you’re stuck in traffic tell yourself this, “As long I make it to my destination in one piece, it’s fine.” (And if you’re like me, you’re usually running a few minutes behind. So how about you start going to bed earlier & setting multiple alarms!)

  • Focus on short-term goals. Sometimes we get so antsy thinking about our goals and trying to reach the long-term ones. Focusing on the smaller goals teaches us to be more patient about reaching larger ones.

Waiting can be such a HARD thing to do, but it’s usually worth it in the end.

Until next time; Be YOU. Do YOU. LOVE YOU 💜
