The Rebirth Pt.2

[Original post 11.5.2019]

Poetry was an outlet for me at a young age. I started writing around age 9. Check out my last post to see what led up to me writing this post. (Really, click and read people!)

Okay..now that you've familiarized yourself, let's jump right in!

I read something a while ago that said, "When you're in a dark place and you think you've been buried, you've actually just been planted". Did you catch that? Not all dark places are meant for burials. Yes, they are meant for isolation so you can get your shit together, but you are coming into a new season. You are being reborn..reincarnated..replanted.. YOU ARE GROWING!

In order to grow, we have to learn to let go of a lot of things. (A fellow blogger that's near and dear to my heart recently wrote an excellent piece on this as well. You can find it here.)

Letting go is hard to do for most people but it's an essential part of your growth. I'm learning that the older I get, the easier it is for me to let (most) things go because I honestly just don't have the time nor the energy for any dumb shit. I'm trying to get my life together one day at a time so why waste my energy on anything that doesn't benefit my growth?

I've accepted that I'm at a stage in my life where I am being planted, but that's okay. Yes, I have super depressed days and weeks lately because of the weather change (we'll talk seasonal depression at some point). Yes, I cry A LOT. But you know what, I'm learning to trust God and trust MYSELF. Like I said last week, in most cases only you know what's best for you.

So here's my tidbit of advice for today: Grow while it's dark so you can just bask in the sunlight when it's time to blossom.

Until next time; Be YOU. Do YOU. LOVE YOU💜
